So if you suffer with PMS, rest assured you are not alone! As many as 85% of Australian women suffer from premenstrual symptoms, with an additional 7% suffering even more severe symptoms known as premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD).

PMS or PMT is technically defined as recurrent signs and symptoms that develop during the late luteal phase of the menstrual cycle and disappear by the end of the full flow of menses.


The diagram below provides an example of a typical menstrual cycle.
